Transfer of Authority

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about my business I have created.
I have been trying to decide what things have helped me the most to get to the point that
I am currantly at. and what things I need to really focus on to get to the next step.  Of course
creating my own product was probably the best move I made.  I really believe that you need
to create your own information product.

I actually am in process of creating my second product right now dealing with everything
I have learned to this point and where I am going, and the methods and tools I will be
using to get me there

The problem I am facing is that I am thinking I have to do this all myself.  It is very
slow going.

I have to get rid of my mentality that I have to do this myself.  I grew up thinking I always
had to do everything by myself.  My thinking was that it was a sign of weakness to ask for 
help.  When you grow up with this mentality of thinking you find yourself  hanging on to these
crazy WRONG ways of thinking and it is hard to change, but it was something that I to needed
change before I was able to go much farther.

When I first started layoff your boss. I had never done anything like it in my life. 
I relied fully on the help of others to get things done.  Yes I did the interviews, and
wrote the e-book.  But I needed to come across as an expert on something that I
basically had no knowledge about.  So how did I do this?   I relied on others that
were Knowledgeable in the subject i was pursuing.  I relied on Joint Venture partners.

I recently was listening to a very good marketer by the name of Matthew Glanfield
as he talked about the Idea of transfering Authority and credibility from the expert
to yourself.  This is what I learned from what he had to say.

I was not the expert and I had no credibility in the eyes of the Internet Marketing world.
So I had to rely on the credibility and authority of others and have them transfer their
authority and trust over to me. 

What am I saying her?  OK let’s say you are on my son Keith’s list or Mike Filsaime’s list. 
You trust them and respect them.  When they recommend a product or service you go and
check it out just because of the authority and credibility they have earned.  So When I came
on the scene I needed that same credibility and I need to be an authority on the product I had
just created.

Well every Joint Venture partner that I used helped me by transferring their authority to me. 
When I interviewed my Joint Venture partner and was seen with them  I became someone that
was credible.   The more teleseminars I do with experts the more credible I become just through my
association with the expert.  I am seen with those that have already gained the trust and
respect of their lists and their list starts to see me as someone that has some credibility and authority.

When my JV partners promoted my product to their list it was an endorsement from them. They
were telling their list that this is a product that will help you and this guy is someone that you can
trust.  You believe him just because he is someone that you feel is a credible person and is an authority.

He has just transferred authority to me and made me have some credibility in your eyes.  They did this
by just asking you to trust them in trusting me.

There is such power in a good Joint Venture partner when it is used correctly. or even used at all.

I have sat and wondered just how I would have gotten to the point I am at now, and How I will make it
farther Without The Power of A Joint Venture Partner.

I can tell you that I know for sure, It would be a great struggle if I was able to make it at all.

Here is an assignment for you to do, or a challenge how ever you want to look at it.

Whatever your niche or business direction is headed.  Find an expert in the field and Do an interview.

Where can you find your expert?

Just do a Google search for your Niche topic and start contacting the site owners, and let
them know you would like to do an interview with them.  Let them know your reason
for the interview and Lethem know you feel that they are an expert and that you feel
that others can learn from whathey have  say.  Basically make them feel really good.

Some good things will start happening for you by doing this.

You will start to become and expert by association.

You will have content to use as a product

You will start the process of having authority transferred to you.

By the way don’t be timid and feel like you can’t do the interview, 

You can!
