The Procrastination Membership Club

jeffsf2.jpgAre you a member of the procrastination membership club?

If not I want to recommend that you stay as far away from it as possible.

Most times I feel I should be the leader of this group.  A friend of mine and I go back and forth about who really should be the leader as she feels she is worse than I am.

We have a lot of fun with each other and it is a good way for us to deal in a humorous way about our procrastination problems we have.

All kidding aside though procrastination is a very serious issue and it can prevent us from reaching the success we desire.

If you are a member of our procrastination club you can probably give me or show me a big list of responsibilities that you have not gotten around to getting taken care of, or at the very least you didn’t get them taken care of until last minute, in which the damage is more likely already done.
While procrastination may seem to be a simple concept and even harmless, it can actually result in some serious issues.  So even though we usually just laugh it off and make it a joke…when the success level you desire is not being reached it is no longer a laughing matter.
I really believe that periodic procrastination is to be expected in life However, but when it gets to the point of your life coming to a halt and your goals are not being accomplished, then it is time to take a serious look into the situation and figure out how to get things moving along.

So how do you know if you are a procrastinator?

You may have a problem with procrastination if…

  •  Necessary work gets shoved aside to do the more enjoyable things in life.
  • You find yourself feeling overwhelmed all the time, and you just do not
     know where to begin.
  • You find yourself telling people that you have too much to do right now
and that you will try to get to it next week”
  • You often find yourself evading making decisions.
  • You find yourself avoiding most new experiences because change is difficult.
  • You take the time to carefully map out projects but rarely see them through.
  • When something does not go as planned you often will fault others other
     than yourself.
  • Find yourself feeling sick when you are faced with with an undesirable task.
  • Remain in a job when you are unhappy for fear of making a move.
  • Avoid confrontation at any cost so you are not challenged on why you did
not complete your tasks and goals.

Procrastination can be the cause of many lost opportunities and a reduction in your quality of life.

We all have our own personal reasons why we choose to not take care of our responsibilities. For some of us it may be the one thing that I see a lot with new people trying to get started online, and that is…the tasks and the goals we have set in place may appear to be too difficult and the old comfort zone I remind you of often gets in our way once again.  We decide the pain of getting these seemingly hard task accomplished will be worse than the pain we are living
in right now.

So has any of this sounded familiar to you?

You really need to understand just what procrastination is and how serious of an issue it may be for you, why your life is suffering from making these choices?  Or should I say NOT making these choices.

You may not be faced with serious decisions right now in your life, but I can pretty much guarantee that there is something in your life right now that you wish to change for the better.  There is also a high probability that you can
make these changes if you could just end procrastination.

It is time that you change some of your habits, and live the life you deserve.
