Questions You Need To Ask Before Starting Up An Internet Business (part 1)
I get asked all of the time how I went about starting up my successful Internet Marketing Business Layoff Your Boss Marketing LLC.
I kind of laugh because when I started I did not intend on having a business, My only goal was to make money fast so that I could survive financially. What I found myself with was a 6 figure Internet Marketing Business that I did not know how to run and found myself quickly sinking fast.
When I am asked how I would go about starting up Layoff Your boss Marketing LLC right now if I was to start all over I tell people I would start out by giving myself an interview just like I would be given for a job by my potential employer.
I also tell them that before you decide to start a business, you might want to think about the qualities you possess, what is it that really makes you tick and how these qualities might help you be a more successful business owner. But before you make that big decision, I recommend that you ask yourself these very important questions:
- Why do I want my own Internet Marketing Business?
- What is your Passions, interests, talents, and skills do I have that will assist you in running your new Internet Marketing business? Inventory the abilities you already possess, and think about all the ways you can use them to grow your business.
- Out of your skills what skills do you need to learn or brush up on to run your business effectively? RYou will benefit if you begin to recognize which skills you need to develop in order to run your business most effectively. If you identify the ones that are worth investing time into learning, and which ones you might be better off outsourcing you will save yourself a lot of valuable time in the learning process and move ahead more quickly.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses? The ability to do this will be invaluable for you as the business owner. Recognizing and understand the things that you’re good at and what you’re not. By doing so you will help yourself decide how to use your time wisely, and when it would be a good time to outsource to the experts or outside professionals for help when needed
- Will I chose to do be meaningful and really interests and excites me? OK this one is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself. By choosing a Niche that really excites you and speaks to who you really are, you will find that it will be more fun and rewarding when it speaks to who you are and the things you hold dear. When we’re engaged in doing something rewarding it helps to motivate you to keep going even when things get tough. You will need to get in touch with your values and see if there is a synergy between them and the things you’ll be doing in your business. If not, see how you can spin things so that there is. If you are not excited about what you are doing you will very quickly lose your focus and drive to keep doing the things you need to accomplish.
- Have I established business goals?Very few people that want to get started even think about setting business goals. Goal setting is an important part of any business plan. But setting a goal is only part of the big picture. Achieving them is even more important. Learn how to identify which goals are important enough to commit to, and systematically work towards them by breaking them down into steps, establishing time-lines, identifying resources needed, and benchmarks for success. Set smaller more achievable goals along the path of the end goal. Make sure that you will have to work some to achieve these goals. Don’t make them so easy that you will not feel it was meaningful that you accomplished your goals.
AN example of this would be when I used to go out running. I set a goal to run 20 miles in one run without stopping. I had never accomplished this task and I was not going to start out by trying to run 20 miles my first time out. I did accomplish this goal but I started out with 1 mile and then as I felt I could raise the bar I increased to 3 miles. I knew that 2 miles would be easier to achieve than 3, but I also wanted to feel a bigger sense of accomplishment so I pushed myself for the 3. Once I accomplished 3 I celebrated and then moved it to 5 miles. I celebrated each success and soon I accomplished my end goal of 20 miles. This took me right about a year to accomplish but I did it and I felt great about my success.
Set your goals in the same manner.
I will continue the questions on my next post that I write so be looking for the remainder of the questions I feel you should ask yourself before you start up your Internet Marketing Business.
Soon you will be Laying Off Your Boss and you will have to make some very important decisions.
