Jeff and Stuart Tan How To Transform Your Life By Maximizing Your Profitability

Jeff and Stuart TanOver the last year I have been receiving emails from my list and I have been noticing something that really bothers me alot.

The reason it really bothers me is that I see the same pattern that I got myself into over the last several months before I finally said enough was enough and did something about the mess I had gotten myself into.

The problem I am talking about is going into debt to pay off the debt we already have.

I found myself not being able to pay the bills each month that I had occurred and instead of looking for a solution that would really help me out, I just paid the bill with a credit card that I had until it was maxed out and then I went to the next one.

My reasoning was, “I will work more hours next week to pay off what I just put on my credit card, or more hours to ensure I could pay all the bills next month.

This vicious cycle continued until I had 3 credit cards maxed out.

I used to think I was the only one that did this until I started Internet Marketing and began to start reading the emails from you.

The stories I hear are to familiar.

The reasoning for it is always, “I know it is not the right solution to my problem but, I just didn’t see any other way out.

The same goes with buying products I promote.  Sometimes I feel bad about even promoting anything because I know several on my list feel that the product that I just promoted is the product that is going to solve the debt problem once and for all so you max out another credit card to buy.

This way of handling our finances just leads to a point of desperation and when I try to mentor or coach this person that is in this state of desperation, very seldom do I see a favorable response.  The biggest reason is that I can’t help that person fast enough and they end up discouraged and leaving the program before it really helps.

Some people claim that too many of those in debt are just recklessly building up debts and spending exuberantly, knowing that they can go bust and start again.

This assumption is totally not the case from what I see and know.

The huge, vast majority of people in serious debt get there unintentionally, and they are ashamed, sad or depressed, and extremely anxious about it. Furthermore, they genuinely want to deal with it, if they can. They need our support, not our derision.
So, if you’re struggling with debt, don’t feel bad. There are millions like you who have fallen on hard times, for one reason or another, and you deserve support.

I went through this struggle…I went through the pain and humiliation of being in debt over my head and not understanding how I could get
myself free.

I was fortunate and was offered the right kind of help and support I needed.

This same support and help is available to you also.

My question to you…do you want the support and do you want the help?

If the answer to these questions are yes then I would like you to join me on July 10th at 9pm eastern with myself and a very good friend

Support Tickets and Building Relationships

jeffsf5.jpg Support Tickets…You just either Love them Or you Hate them.

When I first started marketing I decided I would answer my support tickets all myself.  I was told I was crazy and that it would not last for long.

Well I am happy to say that after my first year of Marketing I still am answering my support tickets myself.

Some days I go in with one eye closed praying there are none to answer…this usually is after I have had a customer that I just can’t satisfy no matter how hard I try.  Usually it is not even over anything I have did wrong.  It is usually over someone else’s product or service that is giving poor support to their customers and they are coming to me because they know I will try and help.

What I am finding to be the biggest trouble is the lack of trust in support desks by the customers.  To many have had such bad experiences that they put in a ticket just expecting it not to get answered or some other kind of bad experience.  Marketers with poor support give support desks a bad name, it isn’t the support desk.

I recently dealt with a customer over a product I promoted that no matter what I did I could not make him happy.  What I soon realized was that I was not going to make him happy.  He was just looking for an excuse as to why he was not able to take action on a product that he bought.

Even though I was answering his support that he sent to my personal email and my support desk…he still was bound and determined he was going to criticize my support.  I did the only thing I could to help him out.    I signed him up for a program I am starting in July and am going to try to work with him.

Probably a bad move on my part as I know he can get on my webinars and start up more trouble.  When he does he will be confronted right then and there and then I will do the next best thing… unsubscribe him from my list.  I know it should have been the first thing I should have done.  Hey I am a sucker when it comes to helping people what can I say.

OK that is the bad about my support so what is it that I like?

Well 2 very good reasons…

1.  I learn a lot from people and what their needs are and this allows me to develop products and services to help meet these needs.

2.  It helps me build a more personal and one-on-one relationship with my customers.  Responding to them personally opens up a dialogue that really helps me to get to know those that are on my list.

It has been amazing how many people I have brought into my programs just by building a trust factor with the person that sent me support.  I get support asking me to help them get in touch with a different marketer that I might have promoted a product for… I love this… usually the support from the other marketer continues to be non existent and I win the trust of that person and they unsubscribe from one list and continue on mine, because I meet their needs and build trust.

I know it sounds kind of mean spirited of me to Love the fact that another marketer is giving bad support… Well one thing you need to do to get ahead of the pack is to fill the holes and if one of them is offering better support over my competition then I am going to be all over it.

Is my support perfect all the time.  Well let’s say I do my best…I finally realized I could not make everyone happy…all I can do is do the best job I possibly can and keep listening to the customer.  By the way the customer is not always right… but I will sure make you feel as if you were…I learned a lot from my Grandpa Norm Freeman… He used to tell me all the time that the customer is always right if I would argue with one when I worked for him on his fruit market.  One day I disagreed with him after he dealt with me for arguing with a customer that was WRONG… he told me he knew the customer was wrong and that I was right and then he went on to explain to me the reason that the customer was always right and how to deal with people correctly.

Now when I see one of my customers trying to pull something over on me I just smile and send the best email of my life back to that person.  Usually all is well but occasionally you come across the one like the gentleman that I have been dealing with lately that I probably wil never be able to help.  Mostly because he really doesn’t want the help to begin with.

So I guess I shall continue answering my support myself and doing the best job I possibly can.

Time consuming?  YES!  Worth it in the end?  Most definitely.  I love building relationships with my list and helping them in any way I can.

I was new at this to a year ago and I know what I needed the most…HELP!

Hope this is of some help to any that read this.

Enjoy your day!

Internet Marketing Choosing a Niche

jeffsf5.jpgStep 1: Choose a Niche According to Your Passions,Interests, and Strengths

What in the world is a Niche?  Do I need to rub some kind of lotion on it?

The term niche is a word that is thrown around very often in Internet marketing circles that you may be wondering… just what in the world is a niche?

A niche is a group of people who have a common interest. They can be people who have special needs children, people who are buying their first puppy, people who compete in car shows, or maybe they are adoptive parents…you get the picture.

You will usually find that these groups of people usually have a very intense passion for what they do. And they usually have the same needs and problems as well.   For example the parents of the specail needs children may all be looking for support programs that they can use to help them with raising their children, or what rights their children have to an education.  So, your first step is to choose a group of people that you can identify with.

Why is this important?

Because an online business is all about relationship.  It is not a good thing to start an online business that you have no intrest in whatsoever.  Doing this is just setting yourself up for a let down and defeat.  You must like these people. You like the things they like. You buy the same things they buy. And you have the same needs and problems that they have. The best way to go about this is to  pick a niche that you have a passion for if at all possible.  Of course it has to be profitable so research will be needed.
Another reason for choosing a niche according to your passions is that starting an online business is flat hard work!  Ouch did I say that wonderful 4 letter word W**K!  Now do not get me wrong there really is nothing to terribly difficult, but it will require some work on your part.  If you enjoy what you are doing it will be so much easier  to persevere in your new online business. If you want an Internet business that does not require any time or money or an easy button to just push with no work at all, then you have come to the wrong place!

You need a plan and you need to commit some time, energy and money to that plan or you will not succeed.

  • Make sure you play to your strengths.
  • Know something about your Niche
  • Speak their language
  • Know their problems
  • Know how to solve the problems
  • Know how they think
  • Know what they believe
  • Know what they REALLY want

If you want to get your subscribers to Know you Like you and Trust you, then you need to become one of them.  You need to become the authority and the expert in your Niche Market.

I can’t stress enough that everything you do in Internet Marketing is all about a relationship.  In this particular case it is the relationship with your potential customer.

Find a good  profitable Nich, Do your research.  I look for a couple good products already selling on ClickBank and Then I do a search on Google to see if their is paid advertising for the Niche.  This is a good starting point for finding your profitable Niche.

 To your Success

Interviewing Experts to Create Information Products.

If you have seen or purchased any of my products such as layoff your boss, you will know that I love using Interviews as a way to capture and deliver great content to my subscribers.

I have interviewed some of the greats like Keith Wellman, Gary Ambrose, Ken McArthur, Sterling Valentine, Liz Tomey, Simon Leung, Harris Fellman, Heather Vale, Frank Sousa, Matthew Glanfield, Brian Edmondson, Cyndi Parker, Seo expert Paul Counts, and others.

The greatest things about Interviewing experts to create Internet Marketing Information products is that you do not have to be the expert yourself.  By Interviewing experts there is a transfer of authority from the expert to yourself if done properly.

Have you ever watched someone like Heather Vale “The Barbara Walters of the Internet” Interview an expert?

Do you think that Heather was an expert on every subject she has ever interviewed an expert on?  No way. but does she come across as anything less?  My answer is again No Way.  Why is this?  Well through proper research of the expert she interviews and some simple techniques of the way she handles and controls the interview she comes across as an expert just as the expert does through the transfer of authority.

Make sure you do your research on the expert you interview.  Do Google searches, search the experts Blogs, go to live events and meet and network with experts.  Show the expert and your  target audience that you really cared to get to know the person that you are interviewing.

Have and show the expert you are going to approach to do an interview with that you have a good solid reason for wanting to do the interview.  Don’t just interview without purpose.

Something to remember…

Interviews are not just a list of questions.  They are not just conversations.  It is important to remember that there are third parties involved in the interview…that is the audience.  Make them feel a part of the interview.  Build a relationship, not just with the person you are interviewing but with your audience as well.  Make them feel like you are getting the information to benefit them as well as you.

One of the biggest things I learned from a class I attended with Heather Vale on interviewing is what Heather called, “The Number 1 Skill Of an Interview!”

LISTEN!  I am not telling you to listen to me I am telling you that that is the number 1 skill… “LISTEN!”

No interview goes exactly as planned.  Every interview I have done so far drives this point home clearly.  If you learn nothing else from the tips I give you learn to listen and listen well.  It could make all the difference in the quality of interviews you get.

If you want good content for your Information Products in any Niche then I suggest going to a live event and Interviewing an Expert.  And my expertise advice is to do a live face to face video recorded Interview.  This is the best way to build relationships and connect with your target audience, as well as build relationships with the experts you are interviewing.

Not only that once you have the recorded face to face interview, you then can strip the audio out of the video for your customers to use with MP3’s and you also can have them transcribed as e-books.

My recommendation to you today is get started  creating your Internet Marketing Information Products by doing Interviews with the experts right away.

To your Interviewing success.
